At 12:30AM on Saturday 1st December, the server which hosts the chat page and some other systems ceased to function. All attempted connections timed out, and we have decided that our providers server simply crashed.
Usually this would be a quick fix - the staff who work for our provider would notice that their server was not functioning properly, and would also receive complaints from customers like UKCB (and others).
However, because this is the weekend, most of the provider's staff are probably at the pub having a pint, or recovering from a hangover - because of this, we cannot contact anyone to restart the server. All we can do is wait until Monday, when someone will be in the office and be in a position to help.
We are doing all we can, but because we cannot afford any better hosting solutions (this site makes no profit - adverts pay for running costs), it is a problem which tends to come and go. We are genuinely apologetic and hope you can understand the position we are in.
